Set the mood, then settle in. Before each lighting, trim the wick to ¼ in (6 mm) for a clean, even burn. Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts and anything flammable, and allow the candle to burn within sight for no more than four hours at a time. Keep away from children and pets. When ½ in (12 mm) of wax remains, it’s time to say goodbye. Never extinguish with water.
